Terrorists tried to attack Indian democracy
Hazaribagh :Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that Jharkhand has enormous potential to become the number one state in the country and batted for politics of development instead of politics of caste to take the state forward.
“The need of the hour is to leave politics of caste, politics of backward-forward and politics of we and you, and do only politics of development …To put India, Jharkhand and Hazaribagh on the path of development,” he said here at an election meeting for the third phase of polling scheduled on December 9.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said terrorists tried to attack Indian democracy but brave jawans sacrificed their lives protecting the country’s security. The Prime Minister also paid tributes to martyrs who laid down their lives while fighting militants. “Terrorists tried to attack the democracy of India.
But the brave jawans sacrificed their lives protecting the country’s security,” he told an election rally here. “I pay my tributes to Jharkhand’s brave son Sankalp Kumar Shukla and other brave jawans who sacrificed their lives. Sankalp Kumar Shukla’s martyrdom will be remem-bered by future generations in the state,” he said.
Kashmir Valley was yesterday rocked by four attacks by militants from across the border, who stormed an army camp in Uri leaving 11 security personnel including Lt Colonel Sankalp Kumar dead and killed two civilians in Tral. The attacks and gun battles with security forces left in all 21 people dead.
Jharkhand, he said, was not an ordinary state and has enormous potential to become number one in the country. “Jharkhand has the potential to attract others for jobs instead of people of the state migrating else-where,” the PM said, adding employment opportunities in the state would stop the youth from leaving their homes and old parents behind to eke out a living.
Modi said he wanted to change the situation in the state by providing educa-tion and employment by setting up factories, making water available and provi-ding electricity to villages.
All families, he said, should avail Jandhan Yojana tagged with insu-rance.Urging people to vote for BJP in the on-going assembly polls, the prime minister said that if the party came to power not only the state government but also the Centre would work for Jharkhand’s development.
Modi said Jharkhand did not require a coalition government as it would not benefit the people. “Jhar-khand needs a government committed to the welfare of the people. It does not require a government of coalition, which does not help the people,” he told the election meeting. The state has been under coalition governments for the past 14 years and saw nine govern-ments and three spells of President’s rule. (PTI)
