Guwahati: The general manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) RS Virdi has conducted the Annual Inspection of the Rangiya Division, along with his team comprising of senior officers from the Headquarters, the Divisional Railway Manager of Rangiya and the other Divisional Officers.
The 74-km long Kamakhya-Dhupdhara section was inspected, an NFR statement said.
The General Manager’s Annual Inspection is an old tradition of the Indian Railways wherein the complete Railway Infrastructure in one section in each of the Divisions is inspected thoroughly and improvements required for the betterment of the quality of service being provided to the public is assessed.
In course of this inspection, the Azara, Mirza, Chaygaon and Dhupdhara stations along with other Railway infrastructure like Bridges, Level crossings etc were inspected.
Public Representatives and members of various public organisations also met him at these stations.
Mr Ratan Lal, Divisional Railway Manager of Rangiya highlighted the achievements of his Division during the current financial year, which include 10 unmanned Level Crossing Gates being manned, one Non Rail Head PRS has been commissioned at Ziro (Arunachal Pradesh).
Later on, the General Manager also inspected the Carriage and Wagon Workshop at New Bongaigaon. (UNI)
