Police nabs man for taking off with clamp

Shillong: After remaining elusive for ten days, City police on Friday arrested the person who stole the clamp of Laitumkhrah traffic branch on December 4. East Khasi Hills SP Kharkrang said that the arrested person identified as Adam Nongkynrih (34) of Mawpat led the police to a jungle in Ishyrwat where he admitted to have thrown the clamp. During the search, a lady staying nearby handed over the clamp which she had picked up thinking it was scrap. Nongkynrih has been remanded to two-days police custody and the Maruti car (ML 05C 8860) has also been seized.
