TURA: Caretakers of Reliance mobile towers in Garo Hills under the aegis of All Garo Hills Reliance Caretakers Association (AGHRCTA) have threatened to completely shutdown all towers within Garo Hills following alleged failure on the part of company officials to give assurance to increase their salaries as promised earlier.

“We were assured that our demands would be heard in a meeting to be held in the last week of December. However, that time has come and gone and there is still no assurance given. So we have decided to go ahead with the agitation,” secretary of AGHRCTA, Nolsen M Sangma said.

The indefinite shutdown of the towers is scheduled to begin from February 1, AGHRCTA said appealing to Reliance customers to bear with them during the agitation.
