SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Cabinet on Tuesday approved the names of VIPs who will unfurl the Tricolour and take the salute during the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 in various parts of the State.
Chief Minister Mukul Sangma will take the salute in Tura (West Garo Hills), while GAD Minister HDR Lyngdoh will unfurl the flag in the State capital.
Deputy chief ministers Rowell Lyngdoh and RC Laloo will be attending the Republic Day celebrations in Resubelpara (North Garo Hills) and Mawkyrwat (South West Khasi Hills) respectively.
Speaker AT Mondal will be present at Nongpoh (Ri-Bhoi), Home Minister Roshan Warjri at Mairang Civil Subdivision (West Khasi Hills), Forest Minister Prestone Tynsong at Nongstoin (West Khasi Hills), Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh at Jowai (West Jaintia Hills), Social Welfare Minister Deborah C. Marak at Baghmara (South Garo Hills), PWD (Roads) Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar at Khliehriat (East Jaintia Hills), Parliamentary Secretary Cherak Momin at Williamnagar (East Garo Hills), former Chief Minister and Advisor to the State Government DD Lapang at Sohra Civil Subdivision (East Khasi Hills), Parliamentary Secretary Stephanson Mukhim at Amlarem Civil Subdivision (West Jaintia Hills), Food and Civil Supplies Minister Clement R.
