Dulhera gangrape case: Bail plea of two accused rejected
Muzaffarnagar:The bail plea of two persons arrested in connection with the 2014 Dulhera gangrape case was rejected here by a local court, police said today. Judge K P Singh, presiding over the fast-track court, last evening rejected the bail plea of two accused Naseem and Kala. According to prosecution, a woman was gangraped by 11 people near Dulhera village under Shahpur police station in the district on June 4, 2014. The victim was allegedly abducted by the accused who took her to a nearby graveyard and raped her. Police had registered a case and arrested 11 people in this connection. (PTI)
Three-year old found hanging on tree, rape suspected
Madhubani: A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped and found unconscious in naked condition hanging upside down from a tree at Banka in this district of Bihar on Saturday. The villagers brought the girl with serious injuries down from the tree after they discovered her this morning. She was rushed to a private clinic from where she was referred to the Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital. Her condition is stated to be serious, police officials said The case seemed to be of rape and torture, but anything could be said with certainty only after medical examination reports come. One Muhammad Parvez was arrested in this connection, police said.(PTI)
Over 5000 liquor bottles seized ahead of Delhi polls
New Delhi:Election Commission officials seized 5,964 bottles of illicit liquor from a godown allegedly owned by AAP’s Uttam Nagar candidate Naresh Balyan last night. “A total of 5964 bottles (4473 litres) of Haryana-made liquor was seized from a godown by flying squad and police in a late night joint-operation,” said a senior EC official. As per initial investigations, the godown belonged to AAP’s candidate Balyan, but they are yet to ascertain the ownership of the godown, poll officials said. “Balyan has not been named in the FIR registered at Uttam Nagar Police Station and we are investigating if the godown was owned by him or not. Once our investigation is completed, we will then add name in the FIR,” the official said. (PTI)
