JHADC scam

JOWAI: Taking strong cognizance of the delay in completion of the investigation of the JHADC scam involving former Council CEM MB Rymbai, the JSU and the Jaintia Youth Federation (JYF) have demanded that the probe report on the alleged misuse of Council funds be made public immediately.
“We demand that the investigation and the reports be made public failing which we will be forced to put pressure on the government to speed up the investigation,” stated a joint statement issued here.
Former JHADC chief has been alleged to have misappropriated funds to the tune of Rs. 1.18 crore meant for discretionary grants and gratuity relief.
JSU chief, Rikut Parein said that the investigation into the alleged scam should not take long as there is enough evidence against the former JHADC chief.
The JSU and the JYF further stated, “We wish to see the District Police speed up the investigation and take stern action against the accused failing which we would have no other option but to resort to agitation.”
