SHILLONG: This Valentine’s Day lovers can express their love for each other with a box of strawberry and more.
The District Horticulture Office, Ri Bhoi will organize a Strawberry Festival at Sohliya village on February 14 where apart from the strawberries, people can also enjoy local cuisines and witness performances by local bands. Besides this, a number of other activities like Valentine’s Day dance, strawberry field walks, cycle-rides have also been planned for the day.
Sohliya or “Strawberry village” has been chosen as the venue for the festival with the primary objective of encouraging strawberry farmers in the area.
The District Horticulture Officer, Ri Bhoi said that the event will advocate the importance of entrepreneurship and the value of organic farming.
