SHILLONG: Lok Sabha member from Tura Purno A Sangma has sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention to prevent attacks on the Christian community in different parts of the country including the national capital.
In a letter submitted to the Prime Minister, Sangma said that the community was concerned about the torching of church buildings, attack on Christian institutions and threats of mass conversions.
“The community also feels that Christians are being effectively denied the freedom of conscience apart from equality before law and equal protection under the law,” Sangma said.
The MP also asked the Prime Minister to take measures to prevent such incidents in the national capital and elsewhere in the country.
