Temple renovated in city

SHILLONG: The Shiva Mandir Turha Compound located at Lower Nongrim Hills in the city was renovated and rededicated to the public on the holy occasion of Maha Shivaratri on Tuesday.
The temple was renamed as Baidyanatheswar Shiva Mandir after the Baidyanath Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and a sacred abode of Lord Shiva, at Jharkhand.
An initiative of Sree Narayana Guru Cultural Centre, a socio-cultural organization, a Shiva Linga was consecrated on Monday in the old shrine after putting in place a proper granite filled pedestal for the installation ceremony.
The temple was rededicated to the general public on Tuesday in presence of Nongthymmai MLA Jemino Mawthoh.
