NGT ban violation

On March  9 around 10:45 pm, Police detected two coal-laden trucks (AS-01-BC-8886 & AS-01-AC-8091) driven by Fastwester Lyttan and Fremoson Pakma respectively, while transporting coal in violation of the NGT order at Phramer in West Jaintia Hills.
On March 9 night, F. Basan, BDO, Ranikor C&RD Block in South West Khasi Hills along with Police detected six coal-laden trucks at Ranikor Junction while transporting coal in violation of the NGT order. Drivers were arrested and trucks seized.

ATM fraud

Biswanath Ojha lodged a complaint that on March 4, he received a phone call from one person claiming to be a Manager of Canara Bank, asking for his ATM details to which he (complainant) divulged the same. Later he found that Rs.1, 36, 000 had been withdrawn from his account.

Illegal SIM cards seized

On March 9 around 4 pm, Police while conducting raids in shops selling illegal SIM cards at Jaintia Cement Bazar, Khliehriat, East Jaintia Hills, detected and seized seven SIM cards from the shop of one Md. Somesh Ali. Police arrested the accused.

Vehicle stolen

On March 6, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-05G-1463) belonging to Raju Biswa parked near 39-Supply Depot, Cantonment Area, Shillong.
