JSU approaches Education Minister with college demands

JOWAI: The Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) has, in a reminder to Education Minister R.C. Laloo, reiterated their demand for a B.Ed College in West Jaintia Hills, extension and development of Kiang Nangbah Government College and appointment of a Principal at Jowai Government Boys’ Secondary School.
In a memorandum to the Education Minister, the JSU stated that their three points of demands were emergency requirements to uplift the educational standards in Jaintia Hills.
Further, the JSU also demanded up gradation of government secondary schools to higher secondary ones particularly in the rural areas for the benefits of the students.
