Nomination for gallantry awards

The Government of India will announce the Gallantry Awards on Independence Day, 2015. The Awards are given in three categories – Ashoka Chakra, awarded for most conspicuous bravery or some act of daring or pre-eminent valour of self-sacrifice, Kirti Chakra, awarded for conspicuous gallantry and Shaurya Chakra, awarded for gallantry.
Persons from all walks of life are eligible for these awards. The awards can also be conferred posthumously.
Intending individuals from East Khasi Hills District are required to send their nominations to the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong on or before April 10. Detailed information for the same can be found at http://eastkhasihills.gov.in.
