Malik to wed at Disneyland?
Former One Direction star Zayn Malik is reportedly set to marry his girlfriend Perrie Edwards at Dinseyland Paris this June. The couple is known for its love of the magical theme park, reported a website. “Perrie is a huge Disney fan. So what better way for Zayn’s family to support her and encourage her to press on with wedding plans, than reminding her of her favourite fairytale. The family are hell-bent on Perrie and Zayn having their own happy ever after,” a source said. Malik, 22, quit boy band One Direction last month citing his desire to live as a “normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.” (PTI)
Director Joss Whedon accused of stealing idea for film
Avengers director Joss Whedon, who produced and co-wrote the script of The Cabin in the Woods, has been accused of lifting the idea for the 2012 meta-horror film. The author of a 2006 novel The Little White Trip: A Night In the Pines has accused him as well as the film’s director, Drew Goddard, who penned the script with Whedon, said The Hollywood Reporter. The lawsuit comes weeks before Whedon’s next Avengers: Age of Ultron is due for release. Whedon and Goddard are named as defendants, along with Lionsgate and Whedon’s Mutant Enemy production company, in the complaint filed Monday in California federal court. Peter Gallagher is suing for alleged copyright infringement and wants USD 10 million in damages. Gallagher is basing his claim on the works’ similar premises, both feature a group of young people terrorised by monsters while staying at a cabin in what is revealed to be a horror-film scenario designed by mysterious operators. Gallagher also alleges similarities between the characters’ names and personalities — his book’s blond Julie and shy Dura and the film’s Jules (Anna Hutchison) and Dana (Kristen Connolly), and handsome and scatterbrained men in both works — and certain scenes involving the characters finding strange items in their respective cabins and discovering hidden cameras. A Lionsgate spokesman declined to comment. Representatives for Whedon and Goddard could not be reached. (PTI)
Ronan Keating to marry Uechtritz
Singer Ronan Keating has announced he would be marrying fiancee Storm Uechtritz. The Boyzone singer, who has been with Storm for three years, proposed not once but twice – first during a romantic holiday in Thailand and then in Ireland in front of his three children. “I proposed twice and she said yes both times, thank God,” said Ronan, who helped design the engagement ring – an oval diamond set in a diamond-encrusted titanium band – for 34-year-old TV producer Storm. “We’ve been together a few years now and knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. I felt it was the right time.” Keating, 38, said the people the couple told about their decision were his three children from his previous marriage – Jack, now 16, Missy, 14 and nine-year-old Ali. “Storm isn’t just marrying me. There are four of us involved. Storm has an amazing relationship with the kids, which is very important,” he said. The second proposal took place on Ireland’s West coast with the children present. “We pulled out the ring again and she said yes. It was the most magical thing in the world.” (PTI)
