FICN in market on the rise

SHILLONG: Smuggling of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) is an alarming matter of concern and very often fake notes are being  pumped into the Indian market.
Speaking to media persons here recently on the issue, General Manager (officer-in-charge), Reserve Bank of India said that RBI from time to time keeps on organizing financial literacy camp where people are made aware about the general features of a genuine note.
He further said that RBI has directed all the banks in the country to make people aware about the general features of a genuine note, so that they can tell the genuine from fake.
Meanwhile, the BSF troops deployed at Rongra, South Garo Hills apprehended one Bangla-deshi  FICN racketeer Kishno Shahzada Kasim (55) while he was infiltrating into Indian territory on Wednesday night.  During search, FICN of face value Rs. 12,500.
BSF is keeping a strict surveillance and having effective intelligence network along the India-Bangladesh border to nab the FICN racketeers.
