Heroin seized in city, seven held

SHILLONG: Police have arrested seven persons including a woman and recovered thirteen pieces of small wrapped papers containing light orange powder suspected to be heroin.
Acting on inputs police intercepted a local taxi (ML-05D-2880) near Karbi Guest House, Laban, Shillong and recovered Rs.4620, 45 pieces of square papers and 13 pieces of small wrapped papers containing light orange powder suspected to be heroin weighing around 0.54 gm from the taxi.
The arrested persons have been identified as Tula Mia (35), Krishna Thapa (28), Amit Kumar Sarki (19), Samir Dorjee (20), Kumar Pun (32), Raj Thapa (28) and Monica Singh (21).
