SHILLONG: Chief Secretary P.B.O. Warjri has said that the status of the ‘Education Scam’ will be made known to the Centre after the Prime Minister’s Office sought appropriate action based on the complaint of an eligible candidate.
“The education case is in the court. We will provide this information to the Centre,” Warjri told reporters last week.
Recently, the PMO had asked the chief secretary to take appropriate steps on the complaints of one Nazmul Hashan, one of the affected candidates from West Garo Hills.
It was on September 1 that Hashan, hailing from Phulbari, had written to the Prime Minister seeking his direction to correct the anomalies arising out of the ‘education scam’ as many eligible candidates were affected.  In the letter, Hashan narrated his plight and that of others who were deprived of jobs due to the scam, while non deserving candidates have been teaching in schools.
Hashan had also expressed concern over the delay on the part of the Court in taking appropriate steps.
