Murder
On Tuesday evening, one Amit Gurung allegedly murdered Umesh Rai (40) at Khliehriat West (East Jaintia Hills).
Rape
On November 9, one Carmel Lamare (46) allegedly raped a 30-year-old woman at Nangbah village (West Jaintia Hills). Police arrested the accused.
Assault
Teibor Papang lodged a complaint that on October 12, three VDP members of Domkohsam village (West Khasi Hills), demanded Rs. 5,000 from him and when the complainant could not pay, they assaulted him.
Threat
On November 1, Radhana Jyrwa received an anonymous SMS wherein the sender threatened her and her family members with dire consequences.
ATM fraud
Basanta Kumar Das lodged a complaint that on November 4, he received a phone call from a person claiming to be an SBI employee from Mumbai asking for the ATM detail. Responding to the phone call, details of two ATM cards belonging to the complainant and his lady acquaintance were passed on to the caller. Later, it was found that Rs. 1,000/- from the account of the complainant and Rs. 5,000/- from the account of the lady was fraudulently withdrawn.
Accidents
On Thursday at around 11.30 pm, one vehicle (number not known) dashed against one Maruti Alto car (ML-05M-5840) driven by Nangkiew S Marwein (28) at Golf Links, Shillong. As a result, one occupant of Maruti Alto car sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong.
On Wednesday one Chevrolet Beat car (AS-01BD-9349) driven by Naba Kumar Das collided with one truck (ML-05A-6700) driven by Trabin Mylliem (35) at Kyrdemkhla (East Khasi Hills). As a result, three occupants of the car sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
On Wednesday evening, a Maruti Wagon-R (ML-05F-5549) knocked down Tinsu Choudhury (29) at Madanrting, Shillong and fled away. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong. Later, the Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, Ram Bahadur Thapa.
On Wednesday, one motorcycle (ML-05M-6312) ridden by Wanteibor Nongneng (31) knocked down Bidesh Sangma (39) at Itshyrwat near Mawpat, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to NEIGRIHMS. Police arrested the rider.
Bike theft
On November 9, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08C-2291) belonging to one Abul Sultan Mondal from Nimaigata village in West Garo Hills.
Theft cases
On Wednesday night, an unknown miscreant broke into the shop of Bimal Kumar Sharma at Mawlonghat and stole Rs. 60,000 cash and gold coins valued around Rs. 40,000.
Allen R Syiem of Sukbha Gas Agency lodged a complaint that on Tuesday, one gas delivery boy, Vishal Shangpliang stole one empty gas cylinder and Rs. 6,963 cash from Cleve Colony.
On Monday, one unknown miscreant stole one mobile phone belonging to Bismark Shullai from his house at Dhankheti.
