Police-public contact programme held

SHILLONG: In order to check crimes by militants, as per the directive of DGP, the police-pubic contact programme was initiated by Garo Hills police.
On Saturday, Tikrikilla police station staff conducted ‘people contact programme’ at Pedaldoba area which is known to be infested by ULFA and other criminal gangs.
Police said that as part of public contact programme in preventive policing in Garo Hills, all the OCs and others in police stations and out posts were directed by the DGP to engage the public in preventive policing for their active participation in crime prevention.
