condemned by ENPO
Kohima: The Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organization (ENPO) on Monday condemned the random outburst and indiscriminate killing by the Assam Rifles, where four NSCN (KK) cadres were killed in full public view on Sunday which was violation of the December 18, 2007 resolution. In a release, ENPO president Khoiwang Konyak and general secretary Manlang Phom said the organisation seriously condemned the acts of Assam Rifles for ignoring and violating the ENPO’s December 2007 resolution. As per the resolution, ENPO jurisdiction has been declared as conflict free and peace zone. The ENPO conveyed its deep condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed souls.The Yimchungr Tribal Council (YTC) also condemned the ‘high-handedness’ of the Assam Rifles. In a release YTC vice-president Throngso Yimchunger and general secretary L Chuba Yimchunger said instead of killing them, security personnel could have arrested them. (UNI)
Ashoka Buildcon bags project worth Rs 179.82 crore in Arunachal
Mumbai: Infrastructure major, Ashoka Buildcon, said that company has bagged project worth Rs 179.82 crore in Arunachal Pradesh from National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation. The project is for 2 laning of Pasighat-Mariyang-Yingkiang (NH-513) from Singer river to Sijon river section 19.880 KM to 43.257 KM under Arunachal Pradesh package of SARDP-NE. The company, along with Bhartia Infra Projects had bid for the project, wherein Ashoka’s share is 51 per cent. (UNI)
Poacher shot dead in Assam
Guwahati: A poacher was killed in an encounter with forest guards in Kaziranga National Park of Assam last night.Local reports said today that a gang of three poachers was engaged in a fire fight with forest guards under Bagori range of the Park.One poacher was killed, while two others managed to escape.
