SHILLONG: With the expiry of December 10 deadline set earlier, two Jaintia Hills-based pressure groups  — Jaintia National Council (EJNC&WJNC) and Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement  (HANM) — have threatened to launch agitation protesting delay on the part of the state government in making the inquiry report into the Mookhep firing public.
The pressure groups have decided to convene a meeting along with the headman of East Jaintia Hills District on December 21 at Khliehriat West Community Hall at 11 am to discuss the matter.
It may be reminded that the two organizations had staged a protest march on November 30. They had set a ten-day deadline for the government to make the report public.
Two persons had lost their lives in the firing.
