SHILLONG: In an irony of sorts, a person who came to treat his addiction to alcohol created nuisance in an inebriated condition at a de-addiction centre in the city.
According to police, a patient of the New Hope Centre here allegedly damaged the property of the Centre and used abusive language against the staff after getting drunk.
Chantel M. Nikhla of the counseling-cum-de addiction centre lodged a complaint that on December 17 the patient, Sankyntiew Decruse damaged the window panes of the Centre, used filthy language against the women staff and threatened them with dire consequences under the influence of alcohol.
Decruse, who was a UTP in Shillong jail was re-arrested on a few occasions for allegedly assaulting jailed cop, GNLA leader Champion Sangma and engaging in minor scuffle inside the jail.
