SHILLONG: A group of people of Jarain village, Amlarem, West Jaintia Hills has beaten to death one person for allegedly stealing Rs 1,000 from a house there.
Police said that  the deceased Tiplang Khyriem (30) reportedly broke into the house of  one Martis Khyriem at Jarain village under Amlarem PS and stole Rs 1,000/.
However, when the house owner raised alarm, residents of the area assaulted him and he died on the spot.
