Diamond Jubilee celebration of Digambar Jain Temple

GUWHATI: The Digambar Jain Panchayat, Guwahati is organizing Sri Panchakalyanak Pratistha Mahotsav from January 17 to January 24 on the occasion of Diamond Jubilee Sri Digambar Jain Temple at Fancy Bazar area of Guwahati, which was established in 1938 and the first Panchakalyanak organized in the temple in 1965.
Assam Governor PB Acharya and Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is likely to take part in the Mahotsav tomorrow. While Governor Acharya will grace the venue at 10.30 am on Sunday, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is expected to visit the Mahotsav at 7 pm.
While Panchakalyanak will be inaugurated with Kalash procession taken out by the women in different routes of Guwahati on January 17, the next two days—January 18 and January 19 will be marked by day long religious rituals and peogrammes and by cultural functions in the evening.
