Depositors allegedly duped by Rose Valley

SHILLONG: Aggrieved depositors of the Rose Valley company alleged they have been duped by the company after it failed to pay their matured amount since 2014.
The depositors, mainly from Mawlai Nongkwar thronged the office of the company at Police Bazaar accompanied by Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Mawlai Nongkwar unit.  Danny Mukhim, general secretary, HYC Mawlai circle gave the company 15 days time to release the money of the people.
Three staff continued to work at the office and the staff said that most of the employees resigned in March last year. On being questioned as to why they still work there, one of the staff said that they have a responsibility towards their customers and the company’s agents.
The staff also informed that the company has pending cases at the Kolkata High Court and Gauhati HC. Besides non-release of the depositor’s amount, staff’s salaries were also not released.
