SHILLONG: As many as 30 rebel Myntris of the Hima Mylliem have said that they will wait for Friday’s order by the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on the 45-day deadline served by the Council to Paiem Latho Manik Syiem, Thwelson Manik Syiem, Deputy Syiem and to the Executive Dorbar to convene a general meeting of the Dorbar.
The rebel Myntris are unhappy over the functioning of the top functionaries of the Hima Mylliem citing alleged financial irregularities and other reasons.
The Myntris who had earlier demanded the removal of Latho Manik Syiem said on Thursday that they have not received any information regarding the 45 days’ deadline.
“There must be something suspicious behind the action of the KHADC in not informing us about the current situation and we are surprised by  the haste in giving deadline on the request of the Deputy Syiem. Moreover, the CEM should have inquired to know whether the Deputy Syiem was ill,” one of the rebel Myntris said.
The Myntris questioned the CEM’s alleged double standard in the removal of the Syiem of Malaisohmat whereas he delayed in taking action against Latho Manik Syiem.
