Sensitization on road safety necessary: WGH DC

TURA: Transport Sector Capacity Building and Awareness Workshop for Motor Association, Auto, Bus, Sumo, Tura Public Transport System Association was held on February 6 at SMELC building, Dakopgre Tura. The programme was organized by District Administration in collaboration with Meghalaya Basin Development Authority, West Garo Hills District.
While delivering the keynote address, Pravin Bakshi, Deputy  Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Tura informed that the series of accidents happening frequently in and around the district substantiates the need to take precaution while driving and sensitization of road safety is necessary.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Twilight Sangma, Enforcement Inspector, Tura, A Marbaniang, 2nd Traffic In charge, R G Momin, inspector, Tura police station, BenedickSangma, Development Officer, Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank, J Saikia, Probationer Officer, State Bank of India, Tura and representative from United Insurance Company, and Anddy W Momin, Labour Inspector, Tura.   Association representatives also shared their difficulties and experiences and S B Marak, Chief Executive Officer, Tura Municipal Board proposed the vote of thanks.
