Mid-day meal
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Jaintia Hills, has informed that mid-day meal rice for LP and UP schools for the months of October-December 2015 will be distributed with effect from February 10 through the respective fair price shops dealers for Jowai Sadar and will be delivered free of cost to the schools by the fair price shop dealers. Scale of issue is 4.118 kg per student for LP schools and 6.588 kg per student for UP schools.
Workshop
The East Khasi Hills Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Office as part of National Livestock Mission will organize the Livestock Mela Cum Farmers’ Workshop on February 17 at Mawngap Mawkharshiing Community Hall and Playground under Mawphlang C&RD Block from 9:30 AM. Parliamentary Secretary in charge AH & Veterinary, Kennedy Khyriem, will be the chief guest.
Condolence
A meeting was held on the premises of Shillong Hindu Dharma Sabha, Shillong, on Monday to condole the demise of its president Dungarmul Singhania, on February 11. The meeting was attended by members of the Hindu Dharma Sabha as well as members of the bereaved family.
Members of Matri Mandir, Polo Ground, Shillong in a meeting on Sunday condoled the demise of Dungarmul Singhania, former president of Matri Mandir. Members present in the meeting observed two minutes silence and offered prayers for eternal peace of the departed soul.
