SHILLONG: Despite reports of resentment over “exorbitant fee” being charged at the toll plaza on Umiam-Jorabat expressway, PWD Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar has said that no official complaint has been filed by anyone in this regard.
“If anyone files a complaint, I will definitely take up the matter with the Chief Minister,” Dhar said.
Earlier, members of NGOs and commuters had expressed resentment over the high rates being charged in the toll plaza which was made operational recently.
NHAI officials, meanwhile, had said that the agency acn do nothing on the matter as the rates were decided in New Delhi.
While private and commercial vehicles are charged Rs 55 for one way travel per vehicle, a journey beyond and back costs Rs 85 given the vehicle returns the same day.
