Ex-minister passes away

SHILLONG: Former Minister Miriam D.Shira passed away on Wednesday after a prolonged illness. Shira became member of the State Assembly in 1978.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee chief DD Lapang has condoled the sudden demise of the former minister. Lapang, while recalling his long association with Shira both in the Assembly an in the Government, described her as an able legislator and administrator.
