Synjuk sets deadline on service rules, VAB

SHILLONG: The Synjuk Ki Nongsynshar Shnong Ka Bri U Hynniewtrep (SKNSKBUH), umbrella body of headmen, has set a two- month deadline to the state government to maintain status quo on service rules and to pass VAB.
A general body meeting of the headmen held on Saturday took a resolution to give a 2 month deadline to the state govt to de-notify the service rules which made it mandatory for government servants to get permission from the govt to function as headmen. Another demand was to pass the pending VAB within the deadline.
The traditional heads from Khasi and Jaintia Hills and executive members of various Dorbar Shnong also attended the meeting.
