SHILLONG: Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Zubin Irani has asked the State unit of the BJP to strengthen the party in the State before concentrating on the 2018 Assembly elections.
In an internal meeting of the party held here on Tuesday, the Union Minister urged the party leaders to work harder. She also advocated the need to organize workshops and trainings programme for the party workers. The meeting was attended by office bearers and party workers.
Meanwhile, a state executive member of the party misbehaved with some media persons and even went to the extent of pushing media persons. However, the state executive member later apologized and the matter was resolved.
