Farmers protest non release of fertilizers

SHILLONG: A large number of farmers protested against the move of the State Government to stop supplying  chemical fertilizers to the farmers in State.
The farmers asked the state government to immediate release urea fertilizers which are required for farming activities during the  public meeting organized by state BJYM at Jingkieng Ground, Nongthymma on Wednesday.
The farmers said that it was upto them to take a decision to go for organic farming.
Farmers from Maweitnai, Mawiong, Lyngkien Shyiap, Mawkynthih, Mawsing, Mawkhar, Unmsaw , Smit, Polakrai, Laitkor, Nongkynrih, Swer, Laitkynsew, Mawmutoh and others took part in the meeting.
