Rape, molestation cases reported in Meghalaya

SHILLONG: Cases of rapes, molestation and abduction continue to take place in the State.One Phrangklin Madur allegedly raped a twenty-year-old girl at Umtngam village in Ri Bhoi district. The girl became pregnant and was admitted at Ganesh Das Hospital, Shillong.An FIR in this regard was lodged at Umroi PIC on April 2.In another incident, one Dak Singh allegedly assaulted one woman with intention to outrage her modesty at Lower Rynjah, Shillong, on March 31. The victim has filed a complaint in this regard. Meanwhile, one minor girl was abducted from Qualapatty area of the city on March 31.
As per a police complaint filed by the father of the victim, one person who identified himself as Manish Kumar, abducted the minor girl from Narsing Akhara, Qualapatty on March 31.
