SHILLONG:  The by-election to Tura Lok Sabha seat is likely to be held after May as the Election Commission is busy conducting Assembly polls in five states currently.
The Tura seat fell vacant following the demise of sitting member PA Sangma on March 4.
Sources said on Friday that as the result of the Assembly polls will be announced on May 19, the announcement of by-poll can come only at a later stage after clubbing with the states which have vacancies in their respective Assemblies.
However, an official source pointed out that since monsoon season will start from June, the ideal time would have been May.
