SHILLONG: The Investigating Officer (IO), I. Nongrum probing the alleged rape of a minor girl by Small Phawa is in trouble as she has been asked to file an affidavit related to the missing clothes of the victim by the High Court of Meghalaya during the hearing on Wednesday.
The Court also ordered the seizure of the mobile of the IO soon after the break after the first half of hearing in the afternoon as she was found fiddling with her mobile inside the court.
The Court was hearing the appeal of the mother of the victim against the order of the fast track court which acquitted the accused.
It was on November 30 in 2011 that the accused Phawa allegedly raped the  school girl who was staying as his tenant along with her family at Riatsiatsim locality in Jowai.
However, in the order dated February 26, last year, the ad hoc Judge of the fast track court, Jowai, OP Lytan, acquitted the accused.
Following this, the mother of the victim, in a letter addressed to the Member Secretary, Meghalaya State Legal Service Authority sought his intervention to appeal against the order of the fast track court in the High Court since she was poor.
During the hearing of the matter in the fast track court, the Investigating Officer did not exhibit the clothes worn by the rape victim.
