Music provides relief to cyclone affected families

SHILLONG: The music community of Shillong handed over a small token from a fund raising event to the Dorbar Shnong of Umpling in the presence of hHeadman Sanwat Pyngrope and other office bearers of the Dorbar on Tuesday.
The concert that saw purposeful and heart rendering performances by Shillong’s leading bands including Soulmate, Summersalt and Blue Temptation, was able to raise an amount of Rs.25, 190, which was handed over to the affected families through the Dorbar Shnong. Also, on stage were solo artistes including Gino Thangkhiew, Jazzmine Zualia and Gail Ryntathiang.
Key organisers included Rudy Wallang of Soulmate, Kit Shangpliang of Summersalt and Zachariah Nongkynrih. The organisers chose to work with the Umpling Dorbar because Umpling is one of the worst affected areas.
