Bodies of two Assam residents found in East Jaintia Hills
SHILLONG: Bodies of two persons from Assam was recovered from a village in East Jaintia Hills. As per information, on April 28 around 2 PM, residents of Chiehruphi village in East Jaintia Hills recovered two male bodies identified as that of Havandra Das (53) and Md. Moina Ahmed (48), both residents of Karimganj district of Assam. It is suspected that the deceased might have been murdered by unknown miscreants.
Youth drowns in Ri Bhoi river
SHILLONG: A youth from Shillong was drowned in a river in Ri Bhoi district. The incident happened on Sunday when one Santosh Chettri (26) of Demseiniong, Shillong, was swimming along with his friends in a river at Dwarksuid in Ri Bhoi. Local residents of the area managed to retrieve him and rushed him to PHC Bhoirymbong where the attending medical officer declared him brought dead.
Boulder crushes man to death
SHILLONG: One person died in a freak mishap when a boulder fell on him at Mawlai Phudmuri on Sunday morning. The deceased Riding Syiemlieh (26) was loading boulders on a truck when one boulder fell on him and he sustained injuries. He was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital where the attending medical officer declared him brought dead.
Woman found with injuries
SHILLONG: On April 30, a woman (26) was found lying on the street with head injuries at Mission Compound, Shillong. She has been removed to Shillong Civil Hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
Illegal use of SIM cards
SHILLONG: A resident of Mawlai has been accused of misusing the SIM card of two women in Mawlai for demanding money from people. In the first complaint, a woman residing at Mawlai Umjaiur lodged a complaint that since 2012 Vincent Khyriem has been using her SIM card to threaten people and demand money from them. In another complaint, a woman residing at Mawlai Kynton Massar lodged a complaint that since February, 2015 Vincent Khyriem has been using her SIM card to threaten people and demand money from them.
