KSU demands appointment of Registrar, Finance Officer at NEHU

SHILLONG: A delegation of the KSU, led by its president Daniel Khyriem, met NEHU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. S.K. Srivastava on Monday and demanded appointment of a full-fledged Registrar and Finance Officer.
Reacting to the demand, the Vice-Chancellor informed that necessary formalities will have to be observed in this regard and appointments will be made in due course of time.
On the KSU’s complaint of lack of proper facilities in NEHU hostels, the Vice-Chancellor said he had discussed the matter with Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani and was assured that special funds will be provided for improving hostel facilities at NEHU.
On the KSU demand for an NET centre for Science students, the Vice-Chancellor asserted that he had taken up the matter with the Union minister for Science and Technology and Director General of CSIR.
He assured the KSU members that the NET Centre will come up either by December, 2016 or June, 2017.
