Drunken driver hits pedestrian

SHILLONG: A person identified as Meban sustained severe head injuries after a car driven by a man under the influence of liquor hit him while he was walking towards Lachumiere near the MPSC office on Wednesday around 3 PM.
The accused driver Spencer R. Marak was driving his car (ML08 C 3213) down the slope of Lachumiere from Malki and hit Meban.
According to eyewitnesses, the car also dashed against the wall of the PTI office.
The driver was arrested.
The injured was carried immediately to Shillong Civil Hospital where his condition is said to be critical.
