Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul has urged his new Assam counterpart Sarbananda Sonowal to maintain friendly relations between the two neighbouring states.
“Assam and Arunachal should maintain cordial relations and all historical, cultural and age-old ties,” Pul said during a courtesy call on Sonowal in Guwahati on Wednesday, an official release said on Thursday.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister also appealed to the Assam Chief Minister to resolve the boundary issue between the two states through dialogue and peaceful means.
The Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister stressed that the two states should work together on all development issues and maintain close cooperation for developing hydro projects in Arunachal Pradesh and taking the local people into confidence.
Kalikho Pul also met Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Irrigation Minister Ranjit Dutta, Commerce and Industry Minister Chandramohan Patowary, PHE Minister Rihan Daimary, Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary and BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary, the release added. (PTI)
