Youth sent to jail for sexually abusing niece

Agartala: A local court of Khowai in West Tripura sent a youth to jail on Wednesday for allegedly abusing his niece in a jungle at Asharambari area under Champahawar police station of the district.
According to report, an eight-year-old girl went to a nearby forest area with her mother to collect firewood and was accompanied by accused, Litan Das.
Allegedly Das took the victim deep inside the jungle to collect firewood when his sister-in-law went back home with firewood.
Das assaulted his niece sexually in the forest taking advantage of her being alone with him.
The victim described everything to her mother after coming back to house. Later,  the accused was handed over to police. (PTI)
