SHILLONG: Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) president Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit has called for the need to practice clean politics in the State.
Addressing party workers after election of office bearers in East Jaiñtia Hills on Saturday Basaiawmoit said, “The philosophy of the party is to stand by clean politics… As a community we need to stay united to counteract any external forces which may harm the state.”
He also urged people not to hanker after money during election days but try to clean the political system instead.
Expressing concern over the future of the state he said, “We notice hopelessness in our state with the ban on coal and sand mining affecting the financial health of the people.”
Meanwhile the new office bearers of the party include president, Defender Pakem, vice presidents, Cream Dkhar and Gowel Phawa, general secretary, Pynlumlang Ksoo among others.
