Stir deferred
The National Committee of Food Corporation of India Employees’ Union, has decided to defer all its countrywide agitations with immediate effect to create an atmosphere of mutual trust and harmony in the overall interest of the country and in the interest to achieve the demands in the charter.
Eye, diabetes camp
Bansara Eye Care Centre in collaboration with the World Diabetes Foundation, Denmark, will organize a diabetes and diabetic retinopathy awareness symposium titled, “The role of media and civil societies in the management of Diabetes and Diabetic Retinopathy” on June 15 at the Conference Hall of Bansara Eye Care Centre, Laitumkhrah. A free eye, diabetes and diabetic retinopathy screening camp will also be organised on June 16 at Youth Hostel from 10 am.
Environment Day
As part of the World Environment Day Celebration, the Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) will organise a Green Volunteers Conclave on June 9 at Bharat Scouts & Guides Hall, Shillong at 10:30 am.
The Shillong City Congress Committee in collaboration with Nongthymmai Assembly Youth Congress observed World Environment Day on June 4. Charles Pyngrope, president, Shillong City Congress Committee was present on the occasion.
