Shillong Mukul Sangha annual meet held

Shillong: Shillong Mukul Sangha celebrated its annual meeting with two days programme in the city recently.On the first day of programme the Sangha organized a free medical camp where Bansara eye care Centre and North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Homoeopathy took part and drew a large gathering. In the afternoon a sit & draw competition was held and a large number of student participated.
On second day, Sangha’s main session was started and B.K. DevSarma, the noted litterateur, scientist and Ex Dean NEHU was the Chief Guest followed by a welcome address from the working president U.K. Hazarika.
The Sanghas annual Mukho Patra “Mukul” was released by the president Mitradeb Gogoi, while two other books of Satindra Hajong and Jamini Adhikari were also released in the session.
A cultural programme were performed by Astha Medhi, Nandini Deka, Kalpana Das, Trinayan as well as invited young group from Assam Club Music School.
The Chief Guest in the lucid speech illucidated the activities of Shillong Mukul Sangha and its members for keeping alive the Assamese culture and literature among the writers.
