SHILLONG: The FKJGP Mawsynram circle has asked Chief Minister Mukul Sangma for better road connectivity.
The body met Sangma on Wednesday and apprised him about the poor condition of roads in the area and the need for a new road from Mawphlang to Balat and Ryngku. It said the road has to be upgraded to double-lane for better connectivity with Garo Hills and Bangladesh.
Sangma had assured them saying the PWD has been directed to complete repair work. The Chief Minister said the State had sanctioned an amount for the national highway from Mawngap via Mawkyrwat till Ranikor via Weiloi. He will also examine the road connectivity from Weiloi till Balat and Ryngku.
