SHILLONG: The Social Organizations of Meghalaya Against Land Alienation (SOMALA) has questioned whether the state government has raised the issue of the Sixth Schedule status of the state with the Centre before taking up Aadhaar enrolment.
According to SOMALA, the enrolment related to Aadhaar should be done with the “norms of the Sixth Schedule philosophy”.
In a statement issued on Monday, SOMALA has urged the state government to take up  with the Centre whether the enrolment of Aadhaar is carried out as per the Sixth Schedule norms even as it wanted political parties to make clear their stand on the matter.
