Police booth inaugurated

NONGSTOIN: The Office of the Superintendent of Police, West Khasi Hills on Friday inaugurated a police booth at Nongstoin Civil Hospital , where Circle Inspector of Nongstoin, Dhri D.Mawlein was the chief guest.
The booth will be under the control of Nongstoin police station where the report will be sent to the office of the Superintendent of Police, West Khasi Hills.
Speaking  at the occasion, Mawlein said that the booth is a temporary set up  where  police  personnel will be on duty on shift basis and keep an eye on activities in the hospital. The booth will have 5 police constables.
The booth was inaugurated by A. K. Giri, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Triplicane district, in the presence of P. Jawahar, Inspector of Police, Law and Order, F-1 Police Station.
“The booth was aimed to increase police presence in the hospital and help people in cases like accident and other activities that people will not have to rush to the police station,”  Mawlein said, adding that  the booth will also ensure security and restore the confidence of doctors and staffs in the hospital.
The inauguration programme was also attended by 2nd Officer in Charge, Nongstoin Police Station G. Momin, Dr.W.W.Phira DM&HO West Khasi Hills, Dr. W.Nongkhlaw Specialist Civil Hospital Nongstoin, Dr.R.Laloo ( Jr.SP O/O DM&HO Nongstoin) and Dr.  C. Niangrai District Tuberculosis Officer, Nongstoin.
