SHILLONG: The FKJGP Mawsynram Circle has urged Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and KHADC CEM Pynshngaiñ N. Syiem to upgrade the Mawsynram C&RD block into a Civil Sub Division.
In a statement issued to the press, the pressure group called for discussions in the Assembly about the condition in Mawsynram. “We appeal to the concerned MLA/MDC to look into this matter and impress upon the government the need for upgrading Mawsynram C&RD Block into a Civil Sub-Division,” the FKJGP statement said adding that Mawsynram C&RD Block covers around 166 villages and is older than the four blocks upgraded recently.
The FKJGP lamented that currently people have to travel all the way to Shillong for small official works and up gradation of the block will be of great help in terms of easier access to the government schemes and support besides others.
