2 held for stealing
Police have arrested two persons for stealing from a shop in the city. Melisha Nongkynrih lodged a complaint that on the night of September 4, unknown miscreants broke into her shop near Shillong Club and stole items worth around Rs 50,000. The two arrested have been identified as Khrawbok Kharkongor (30) and Vishal Shangpliang (22).
Bodies found
Two bodies have been found from different parts of the State in the last couple of days.  The body of one Parimol Paul (73) was found near Tura Bazar around 8am on September 17.  A decomposed body of an unidentified man was found in a forest at Nongthymmai in Byrnihat at around 11 am on the same day. The body has been sent to CH Nongpoh for post-mortem.
BSF officer injured in accident  
On September 16 at around 3 pm, one local taxi (ML-10A-6492) collided with one Maruti Gypsy (AS-01H-4183) belonging to BSF near ICAR, Shillong By-Pass Road (RB). As a result, one BSF Officer and occupants of the local taxi sustained minor injuries.
Cattle theft case
One Sparly Ryngkhlem of Wapungshnong village (East Jaintia Hills) lodged a complaint that on September 9, some persons attempted to implicate his son Ebormi Dkhar in a cattle theft case.
SBI Mawblei branch vandalized
On Sept 19 morning, unknown miscreants broke into the SBI, Mawblei Branch under Madanrting PS, Shillong and vandalized the furniture and CCTV cameras.
Gold not returned    
A woman identified as Sniawbha Phawa lodged a complaint that she gave gold weighing 21 tolas and 7 annas to one Hamboy Lakiang of Panaliar, Jowai (WJH) at his shop M/s H Lakiang goldsmith located at Merusa Complex near Woodland, Jowai for repairing the same and acknowledgement slip was duly issued. However, only half of the gold was returned and the rest of the gold valued around Rs 3,70,000 has not been returned till date.
Minor knocked down  
On September 17 at around 5 pm, one Scooty (ML-05K-5970) ridden by one Sandeep Kumar Nag (46 yrs) knocked down one minor girl at Mawprem, Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong.
Aircel tower batteries lakh stolen
One Ringdern R Marak lodged a complaint that on the night of September 9, miscreants stole 52 batteries valued around Rs 2 lakh from an Aircel tower at Ringma Apal (WGH).
Car falls into ditch
On Sept 17 at around 9.30 am, one Maruti Alto car (ML-05F-9790) driven by one Shaiborlang Khonglam fell into a ditch near Shillong College. As a result, the driver sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
